Terms of Use for Nysta
Last updated: 16 June 2026
These terms govern your use of the Nysta app. By creating an account you accept the terms. Please read them and keep a copy if you wish.
1. Who we are
Nysta is provided by:
StatLab (sole proprietorship)Company reg. no. (CVR): 41068027
Alleen 39
8660 Skanderborg
Denmark
Contact: hi@nystaknit.com
2. What Nysta is
Nysta is an app that helps you match your own yarn stash with knitting patterns so you can use the yarn you already have. The app suggests yarn substitutions, leftover-yarn matches and estimates whether you have enough yarn for a pattern.
Nysta is a helper tool. Its assessments are guidance based on data about yarn and patterns, including data from Ravelry (see § 8). We do not guarantee that a suggested yarn is a perfect fit for a given pattern, or that a quantity is enough for your project. Always knit a gauge swatch and use your own judgement before you start.
3. Account
You need an account to use Nysta. You are responsible for keeping your details accurate and for activity on your account. You may only create an account if you meet the age requirement in § 12.
4. Subscription and price
Nysta requires a paid subscription after a free trial.
- Price: DKK 29/month or DKK 249/year.
- Trial: You get a free trial with no commitment. You can cancel before the trial ends without paying.
- Automatic renewal: The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period and your payment method is charged until you cancel. The price and renewal interval are shown clearly before you buy.
- Payment: Purchases and renewals are handled by Apple via the App Store or Google via Google Play, depending on your device. We do not receive your card details. Apple's and Google's own terms apply to the payment itself.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. You cancel through your Apple ID / App Store account or Google Play, not inside the app. When the subscription expires, your account continues in a limited, read-only view where your data is preserved but new actions require an active subscription.
6. Right of withdrawal
As a consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Danish Consumer Contracts Act.
Nysta starts with a free trial. You pay nothing until the trial ends, and you can cancel at any time before then without paying. If you do not cancel, the subscription renews automatically as described in § 4.
Any payments and refunds are handled through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you purchased the subscription.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Nysta for unlawful purposes,
- attempt to bypass payment, security or access controls,
- copy, resell or extract our data or content in breach of these terms or of Ravelry's terms,
- disrupt or overload the service.
We may suspend or restrict an account that breaches the terms.
8. Data from Ravelry
Nysta uses data about yarn and patterns from Ravelry via the Ravelry API. This data is owned by Ravelry and the respective rights holders. We cannot guarantee that the information is complete, correct or up to date, and we are not liable for errors in third-party data. Links to patterns lead to Ravelry, whose own terms apply there.
9. Intellectual property
Nysta, including our algorithm, enriched yarn data, design and texts, belongs to StatLab and is protected by copyright. You receive a personal, non-exclusive right to use the app for as long as you comply with the terms. You acquire no other rights.
10. Limitation of liability
Nysta is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of yarn, time or materials, that results from you acting on guidance from the app. Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights as a consumer under Danish law.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy, please write to us first at hi@nystaknit.com.
If we cannot resolve it, you can complain to:
- The Danish Centre for Complaint Resolution (Center for Klageløsning), Nævnenes Hus, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, Denmark (kfst.dk / naevneneshus.dk).
- The European Commission's online dispute resolution (ODR) platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
12. Age limit
You must be old enough to create an account under the rules of your country. The age of consent for digital services is 13 in Denmark and may be up to 16 in other EU countries. If you are below the applicable age, you may use Nysta only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
13. Changes
We may change the terms, for example for new features or legal requirements. We give reasonable notice of material changes in the app or by email before they take effect. The current version is always available at nystaknit.com/en/terms.
14. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes are settled by the ordinary Danish courts with the Copenhagen City Court (Københavns Byret) as the court of first instance, unless mandatory consumer rules entitle you to bring a case elsewhere.
15. Apple App Store
When you download Nysta from the App Store, Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. In case of conflict between these terms and Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA prevails for the matter it governs. Apple is not a party to the agreement between you and us, but is a third-party beneficiary and may enforce the EULA.
